    The Toronto Central LHIN is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to fill the position of Senior Consultant, Process Improvement and Project Management in the Transformation and Project Management Office. The incumbent for this role will be comfortable with change and taking on new challenges, developing innovative solutions to complex problems, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization.

    The Senior Consultant, Process Improvement and Project Management is an integral role within the Toronto Central LHIN to deliver on its operational and strategic priorities. The incumbent for this role must be comfortable in facilitating value stream mapping sessions and developing recommendations for process improvement suitable for a senior level audience. Moreover, this individual must possess project management capabilities to lead and support both operational and strategic priority projects. The Toronto Central LHIN is seeking a candidate who has expertise in applying operational improvement methodologies and frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, and others in a healthcare environment to identify opportunities for improvement.

    The Transformation and Project Management Office has the mandate to support large strategic and operational projects, identify and lead transformation initiatives, and support the senior leadership by providing reports and status updates on important change initiatives. This position is accountable for supporting and managing corporate projects both strategic and operational, producing project status reports, and providing ongoing expertise for the management of complex initiatives.



    • Manages assigned projects or segments of projects within portfolio and the effective use of a project management framework to support implementation of project plans
    • Leads and facilitates value stream mapping and other process improvement working sessions with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders
    • Develops recommendations for improved operations, increased quality of care, and / or greater operational efficiency to be presented to a senior level audience
    • Uses process improvement methodologies and frameworks, such as Lean and Six Sigma, to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and quality improvement
    • Builds and manages stakeholder relationships with colleagues across LHIN portfolios to support project tasks, monitor project activities, and collect information for corporate project reporting
    • Provides support to senior leadership on managing corporate projects and effectively tracking milestones, project risks, and project status
    • Monitors, evaluates and reports on assigned portfolio activities, deliverables and performance objectives set by the Transformation and PMO team
    • Provides support and recommendations, contributes to the planning, with the Transformation and PMO team in developing project plans for transformation initiatives at the Toronto Central LHIN



    • Undergraduate degree in health administration, business administration, or a related field,
    • Master’s degree in business administration, health administration or related field, or equivalent education and experience an asset
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset
    • Master Black Belt (MBB) Certification considered an asset



    • Two plus years of related experience, including experience working with stakeholders at various levels within the health care environment
    • Experience leading value stream mapping and other lean sessions
    • Experience facilitating working and user groups
    • Expertise in understanding operational excellence, quality improvement, change management and process redesign concepts including lean/six sigma
    • Understanding of LHINs’ mandate and their role within the broader health system
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex initiatives and to implement proposals and projects within established timeframes and targets (financial or other)
    • Ability to manage proposals and project action plans, ensure appropriate frameworks and risk registries are in place, establishes terms of reference and resource requirements
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Proficient at developing quality reports and deliverables using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and using process mapping and statistical software
    • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently
    • Ability to take initiative to achieve results and solve complex problems
    • Ability to work effectively in complex governance and stakeholder environment
    • Experience with design thinking and other innovation frameworks is considered an asset
