    JOB TITLE: Senior Financial Analyst – Business Intelligence Finance & Reporting (Community Sectors)

    START DATE: September 2018

    DURATION: Full Time, Permanent

    REPORTS TO: Controller, Financial Planning and Reporting

    DEPARTMENT:  Finance

    LOCATION: Toronto Central LHIN



    As a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) - Business Intelligence Finance & Reporting (Community Sectors), the main responsibilities include preparing monthly/quarterly financial packages,  performing financial analysis for the community sectors and assists with the reporting of community HSPs and community funding initiatives for senior management in order to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process. The SFA performs various corporate management responsibilities which support and advance the finance and business functions at Toronto Central LHIN (TC LHIN) and performs cross functional and other duties consistent with  the job classification, as assigned or requested.




    • Performs financial analysis on the funding of Personal Support Work Initiative and work with HSPs to ensure accuracy on HSPs forecast
    • Responsible for the business intelligence finance for the Community sectors including the surplus recovery and reallocation reports
    • Prepares costing report and statistical dashboards for the Community sectors
    • Performs monthly funding reconciliation to ensure funding are received for all initiatives
    • Prepares the reporting of transfer payment funding for all sectors and ensure the funding matches with the Ministry financial
    • Assists with the HSPs budget analysis for the assigned sectors and develops reports to assist the team in the annual planning
    • Performs analysis on HSPs quarterly and annual planning submission for the sector assigned to ensure accuracy and completion
    • Prepares financial result reports including Diabetes, E-Health, Pay for Results and the quarterly forecasts
    • Prepare HST submission reports
    • Performs intercompany invoices, reconciliation and coordinates the bank transfer
    • Provides support for the annual budget preparation
    • Assists with the development of financial statements reports and management reports in the financial
    • Performs consolidated month-end analysis and creates reports to aid management in financial statement
    • Prepares year-end audit working papers and other supporting documentation, including the creation and maintenance of the fixed assets
    • Prepares financial reports (monthly financial statements, quarterly financial statements for Financial and Audit Committee, quarterly financial reporting packages) for the Senior Management team, Finance and Audit Committee and Board of
    • Reviews Accounts Payable and Accounts  Receivable transactions to ensure adherence to the internal and external policies
    • Carry out day-to-day financial affairs, operations and reporting of TC LHIN divisions with strong customer focus and
    • Fulfil ad-hoc requests made by the Controller, Senior Director of Finance, other directors and/or external
    • Responsible for finance related inquiries for the assigned sub-LHIN region.
    • Performs financial analysis and prepares summary reports for cross-functional projects/initiatives
    • Other tasks assigned 









      • An undergraduate Degree in Accounting , Finance, Business or related field
      • Must have a recognized accounting professional designation: CPA or MBA or equivalent working experience



      • Minimum Seven years' experience with hands-on approach
      • Significant experience in dealing with financial affairs of organization and people
      • Working experience in Great Plains accounting system
      • Extensive experience with a minimum of seven years in preparation, review and analysis of financial statements
      • Experience in writing financial and budget analysis comments and business cases  analysis
      • In depth knowledge of, and proven ability to establish budgeting, financial and accounting policies
      • Project management experience in overseeing project initiatives for corporate services would be an asset
      • Knowledge of HSFR is an asset
