    Systems Operator

     

    Bring your information systems support experience to this regular full-time role as a Systems Operator for the Central West Local Health Integration network (LHIN). 

     

    Reporting to the Manager – Health Informatics and Technology, the SYSTEMS OPERATOR position is responsible for providing operational support to the Central West Information Systems and the associated operating system, network, and peripheral equipment.


    Responsibilities for the Systems Operator will include:

    • Provide operational support relating to hardware, software, systems security, and communications;
    • Oversee and execute the management of service desk web tool;
    • Assist in the provision of functional support to LHIN Information Systems;
    • Assist in the provision of functional support as its relates to office software, and the LHIN network;
    • Assist in the provision of functional support to LHIN office equipment;
    • Create and maintains system distribution lists, and the creation and maintenance of user profiles;
    • Provide support to the Network Administrator in trouble shooting of systems malfunctions and to identify the appropriate remedial action;
    • Assist the Network Administrator with training of staff as it relates to the departmental systems needs;
    • Providing a "help desk" function to all CW departments; and
    • Adhere to health and safety policies/ practices developed and implemented by the LHIN and take reasonable precautions.

                 

    LOCATION: Brampton, Ontario

     

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Completion of a computer science related diploma
    • One (1) to two (2) years related experience
    • Healthcare experience preferred
    • Knowledge of computer systems/operations and terminology to run scheduled jobs, and to trouble shoot problems
    • Knowledge of a variety of information technologies and the ability to use this knowledge to adapt to change
    • Must have access to a car
    • Knowledge of LHIN client information systems is an asset
    • Ability to work independently, self-directed and motivated requiring minimal supervision
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work
    • Demonstrated ability to manage change
    • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrates commitment to the Central West LHIN’s mission and values
